The reciprocity agreement was signed by the Portuguese Minister of Infrastructure, João Galamba, by the Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, and by the Brazilian ambassador Raimundo Carreiro.

With the new agreement signed between the governments of Brazil and Portugal, it will no longer be necessary to exchange qualification documents. Brazilians residing in Portugal will be able to use their National Driving License (CNH) until the original expiration date when driving vehicles in the country.

Likewise, due to the principle of reciprocity, Portuguese people living in Brazil will also be able to drive in Brazilian territory.

“With the signing of the agreement between the Portuguese Republic and the Federative Republic of Brazil on the Mutual Recognition of Driving Titles, the two countries intensify existing ties of friendship and cooperation”, said João Galamba.
