The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has issued orange weather warnings due to high temperatures for the south coast and mountainous regions of Madeira, until 6pm on Thursday.

According to IPMA, on the south coast and in the mountainous regions the forecast is for “persistence of very high maximum temperature values”.
