According to Marketeer, Praça dos Restauradores will host 12 panels that tell the story of Disney over several decades, from its beginnings to the present day. From the first cartoons to the arrival in cinema or the premiere of classics such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Bambi or The Adventures of Peter Pan, all these moments are portrayed in this exhibition.
In these panels, you can also find details and images about the continuity of Walt Disney's legacy after his death in 1966, such as the release of the animated film The Little Mermaid in 1989 and others that followed in the 90s, such as Beauty and The Monster, Toy Story and The Lion King.
Also highlighted will be films such as Lilo and Stitch, The Princess and the Frog in the 2000s, the acquisition of Lucasfilm and the entire Star Wars universe and the premiere of Frozen in 2013, which also celebrates 10 years, as well as the launch of Disney+ in 2019. Finally, we reach the 2020s, with the debut of Encanto in 2021 and the focus on remakes of classics and live-action productions.
"This exhibition, right in the heart of Lisbon, marks the celebration of Disney's 100 years and our passion for telling stories that cross generations. At this very special moment, we cannot fail to thank the fans and Portuguese families who contributed to making this dream come true", says, in a statement, Luís Fernambuco, VP General Manager of The Walt Disney Company Portugal. “Through images from the last 100 years, we hope fans of all ages can celebrate with us the timeless stories and unforgettable characters that have entertained and inspired us over the past few decades.”
It's The Beauty and the Beast *, not Beauty and the Monster
