According to the organisation, there is a scheme being shared on social media and via SMS that promises to obtain a legal license to drive in exchange for a sum of money.
"IMT does not communicate payment for any of its services through these means, and therefore should not make the requested payment at any time".
"Whenever these situations are detected, they are reported to the investigation authorities to determine criminal liability. When you detect or come across suspicious messages that indicate a fraudulent scheme to obtain a driving license, you must report it to the criminal investigation authorities. We reinforce that the payment of any amounts to obtain a false driving license, as well as the issuance of these licenses, are crimes punishable by law", adds the IMT note.
This is unfortunate, I'm pleased the authorities have identified a problem. I suspect there will be more of these events as the country moves towards a 'cashless' society
