Grupo Pestana will reopen the former Delfim Hotel in May with a new name, Blue Alvor Beach, and with an all-inclusive option, focused on families.
The building, which in 2019 was purchased by the BPI pension fund for around 35 million euros from a fund from the credit management company Finsolutia, underwent renovation work. It now reopens with the same name as the hotel that the group sold for 75 million to the Spanish Azora, in 2022, which is now operated by Tivoli.
According to ECO, the hotel, leased to Pestana, has 300 completely renovated rooms, is located a few metres from Alvor beach and will have new restaurants and common spaces, where a daily entertainment program takes place for children, between four and 12 years old.
For adults, this hotel, says the Pestana group in a statement, will have three outdoor swimming pools and sports equipment such as a padel court, multipurpose court, gym and easy access to outdoor activities.
All inclusive is severely damaing local business particularly restaurants and bars, the lifeblood of any tourist resort and the choices and quality of these business's is what makes Potugal so popular.

Another all inclusive. This type of accommodation kills off local businesses. No need to leave the complex so local restaurants and other retailers suffer and ultimately close their business. Why come to a beautiful country if all you are going to do is sit in one place. All inclusive has no place in Mainland Europe. Save it for countries where it is not safe to leave the grounds.
