The announcement was made by the president of the Board of the main meeting, Jorge Galveias, according to which André Ventura, the only candidate, had 98.9% of the votes, with 1% being blank votes and 0.1% of null votes also being recorded.
"We therefore have our elected president, Doctor André Ventura", he stated, without mentioning the number of votes, just the percentages.
A few minutes later, the party's press office announced the results. Ventura had 733 votes, and seven blank votes and one invalid vote were also recorded.
André Ventura was elected for a three-year term, which can be extended, in accordance with the party's 2019 statutes.
At the last meeting of the party's highest body, a year ago, he received 98.3% of the votes.
