A study coordinated by the European Commission reveals that 94% of people who live in the municipality consider the city to be a good place to live.
The conclusions result from the survey that was based on more than 70,000 interviews and analysis of 22 criteria that assess the quality of life and satisfaction of citizens in 83 cities in the European Union, with different aspects of urban life, such as employment, security, public transport, healthcare, access to housing and pollution being assessed.
Braga appears in 10th place in the table, which is led by Zurich, Switzerland. Second place is occupied by Copenhagen, in Denmark, followed by Groningen, in the Netherlands, which closes the Top 3.
Good for immigrants
In the ranking of cities that are considered a good place for immigrants from other countries to live, Braga occupies third place with 89%. For young couples with children, the city occupies third place, with 95% of those interviewed considering that it has good conditions, as shown in the 2023 Report on Quality of Life in European Cities.
