The Farense stadium will host the Portuguese team's double journey in Group G, with the first match, with the Faroe Islands, scheduled for March 21, at 5:30 pm, and the game against Croatia taking place five days later at the same time.

Portugal will face these two opponents for the first time in the qualifying phase for the next European Championship, in which they lead the group, with 12 points in five matches played.

The team led by Rui Jorge recorded four consecutive victories, with Andorra (3-0), Belarus, twice (5-0 and 6-1), and Greece (2-0), before recording their first defeat, in the visit to Greece (2-1), in November.

Greece occupies second place in Group G, with 11 points (in six games), while Croatia is third, with 10 (in four), followed by the Faroe Islands, with seven (in five), Andorra (six) and Belarus (eight), both with three.

The first placed team from each of the nine groups and the three best second teams will qualify directly for next year's European Championship, joining hosts Slovakia. The remaining runners-up will have to compete in a play-off to determine the final three places.
