Dublin City Council (DCC) and the Land Development Agency (LDA) have approval to construct 146 new homes in Coolock, Dublin 5. The 1.7-acre land held by Dublin City Council will house 133 cost-rental houses and 13 social dwellings as part of the Cromcastle development.

The property is situated across from the Northside Shopping Centre and close to Beaumont Hospital at the intersection of Oscar Traynor Road and Kilmore Road. By the beginning of Q4 of the current year, construction is expected to commence.

A contractor has already been invited to bid on the job by the LDA. Along with enhanced landscaping, a new public plaza, and green areas, the development will have residences, public open spaces, and community facilities.

“It's fantastic to have secured planning permission for another development in partnership with Dublin City Council,” stated Phelim O'Neill, Head of Property at the LDA. “We are thrilled to be able to start building on this important property, which is located in a desirable region with a high need for affordable housing.”
