According to the PSP, the total suspension of activity of four establishments on Rua do Benformoso, in the parish of Santa Maria Maior, occurred on Monday, following an inspection operation with the collaboration of the Tax Authority, the Food Safety Authority and Económica (ASAE), the Portuguese Social Security Institute and the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT).

The restaurants were closed “due to lack of hygiene conditions and various infractions”, with 29 administrative offenses issued; seven for lack of hygiene, six for failure to issue invoices and two for irregular workers.

The remaining administrative offenses referred to the lack of mandatory information signs, lack of display of opening hours, lack of a menu in Portuguese and lack of product prices and VAT indication.
