According to Cascais 24 Horas, the driver fled before the arrival of the Fire Department and the Public Security Police (PSP).
Witnesses told authorities that the driver was seen driving moments before at "high speed" along Avenida D. Pedro I, and then failed to make the curve in the road, ending up with the car mounting a small wall before flipping over.
The car remained at the location for several hours and then was removed in the middle of the day on Sunday.
A PSP source confirmed the incident to Notícias ao Minuto, adding that despite the driver fleeing the scene, they had now been identified.

April 7th was Sunday today is Thursday April 11th. Since the article doesn't say the car was stolen I am wondering why it took so long to identify a car that was most likely registered with license plates? Obviously they fled the scence because they were under the influence of something which would not be traceable in their bloodstreams after 36-72 hours; hmm. So who can tell me which crime carries the most severity; driving under the influence OR leaving the scence of an accident where no one was injured. If they do not have evidence of drugs or alcahol then they will be driving again? Isn't this a problem in Portugal that I have read about sooo many times on TPN? Either way their license's should be revoked or no lesson is learned and one night someone you know might get injured.
