The incident occurred last week when the young woman fell into the sea while walking and was pulled out of the water "by locals" to a rocky area until she was rescued by the Maritime Police and crew members of the Cascais Lifeguard Station, according to the National Maritime Authority (AMN).

It was later learned that she was saved by a waiter at the Mar do Inferno restaurant.

About a week after the fall, the woman - who had to be resuscitated by emergency teams - returned to the establishment, where she met with the employee, identified as Pedro Santos.

"Now I'm happy. Feeling a warm, tight hug has no words to describe it," reads a post from the restaurant on the social network Instagram.

In the note, the employee expressed his "happiness" that the young woman "is well" and made a point of thanking the people who helped him rescue her.

"You don't know how good it is to feel a warm, tight hug from a person who a few days ago was cold and lifeless," he added.

It should be noted that the alert was raised at 7:20 pm on Thursday last week, and members of the local Cascais Maritime Police Command and crew from the Cascais Lifeguard Station were immediately called to the scene, in addition to the Cascais Volunteer Firefighters and the National Institute of Medical Emergencies (INEM).
