The chefs are supporters of Irish beef and members of the Chefs' Irish Beef Club, a forum for elite, Michelin-starred chefs. The chefs will visit Origin Green beef farms in Waterford, Westmeath, Kilkenny, and Louth today with ten food journalists.

There, they will meet with farmers and get a behind-the-scenes look at Irish beef production.

Along with tastings of Origin Green-verified produce, including craft beer, spirits, meats, shellfish, and farmhouse cheese, guests will visit well-known producers of these goods.

The Chefs' Irish Beef Club was established by Bord Bia twenty years ago, and over ninety chefs from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates are currently members.

Irish beef has established a remarkable international reputation, which was recently reinforced when Irish Grass Fed Beef (PGI) received protected status from the European Commission. Jim O'Toole, chief executive of Bord Bia, made this claim.

"The establishment of the Chefs' Irish Beef Club 20 years ago has greatly assisted Bord Bia in building a premium image for Irish beef in key export markets thanks to the chefs’ ongoing preference and advocacy for Irish beef," Mr O'Toole stated.

"We are pleased to host many of the club members this week while also welcoming new members to this exclusive network," he stated.
