Sons do Mondego, Azar Azar, Budda Power Blues, Martin Harley, Maria João, and Carlos Bica Quarteto are the confirmed artists performing at this seventh edition of the event, which takes place on 28 and 29 June at Parque do Lago do Luso, in Central Portugal, in the Aveiro district.
"Starting from the roots of jazz and blues, we're presenting here names of great quality and recognition, which will certainly surprise an audience more accustomed to the style, but also those who are not so familiar with this musical style," explained Pedro Galhoz, quoted in a press release from Mealhada municipality, that mentions that the entrance is free.
On Friday, 28 June, Azar Azar, the stage name of Sérgio Alves, promises to present "his entire musical career, from hip hop to house, from techno to broken beat", and Budda Power Blues, a national blues band that has just completed 20 years of career, will take to the stage, the municipality said.
On Saturday, 29 June, the Sons do Mondego will perform in the afternoon in the streets of the spa town, and in the evening there will be a show by Martin Harley, who has "been nominated several times in the UK in the categories of best acoustic artist, best guitarist, and best acoustic blues performance", and is considered "one of the best in the world in the Slide Guitar style", added the town hall.
Also in the evening, Maria João & Carlos Bica Quartet, "two of the key names in jazz in Portugal", will be accompanied by João Farinha (piano and keyboards) and Gonçalo Neto (guitar).
