"The food basket of 63 essential goods monitored by DECO PROteste saw its price drop 36 cents (minus 0.16%) in the last week, between 3 and 10 July, to 228.11 euros", reveals DECO Proteste.

A year ago, on July 12, 2023, to buy the same basket, the consumer spent 15.34 euros less (7.21% less). However, compared to the first week of the year, recalls DECO, "this basket of essential goods has already seen its price drop by 7.93 euros (3.36 percent less)".

Although the price of the food basket has been on a downward trend for a few weeks, there are products that continue to register significant increases from one week to the next, such as broccoli, which, in the last week, registered, according to DECO Proteste, " an increase of 42 cents per kilo (plus 15%), to 3.14 euros."

Among the products that saw an increase this week are also courgettes, oranges, and butter beans, as well as whole grains, fish fingers, carolino rice, red potatoes, and salmon.
