According to Notícias ao Minuto, the information was released this morning by the National Maritime Authority (AMN), who added that the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) determined that the water was “unsuitable for bathing”.
“After receiving information from the APA advising against swimming at Amoreira beach, the Regional Health Authority gave instructions for the red flag to be hoisted and notices to be placed at the access points to the beach, prohibiting swimming,” he added.
In this regard, the ban will remain in force “until the results of new water quality analyses indicate that the microbiological values are within the reference parameters”.

I went to this beach twice a day on tuesday, wednesday and this morning. I never saw notices at the access points of the beach of the bad condition of the water. It's a pity.

This picture is not Amoreira beach. It is Bordeira Beach. I go there regularly and have my own photographs of it on my wall. So, which beach is closed?

Not accurate it’s the river end that’s closed to swimming not the seashore end
