A new analysis of the beach's water quality carried out by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) showed that the microbiological values were within quality standards, hence the lifting of the advice against it, the AMN said in a statement.

“In view of the results of the analyses, and following instructions from the Regional Health Authority, the advice against bathing at Salgueiros beach was lifted, and instructions were given to remove the warnings at the beach access points,” it said.

Bathing at Salgueiros Beach, in Vila Nova de Gaia, in the Porto district, has been discouraged since Wednesday due to microbiological values above the reference parameters in the water.
