“The Sustainable 2030 Programme foresees support for coastal protection in the order of 140 million euros, of which 51 million will be new investments, to be launched in October for the North, Centre, Lisbon Metropolitan Area, Alentejo, and Algarve regions”, indicated the Ministry of the Environment.

Quoted in the statement, Environment Minister Maria da Graça Carvalho said that interventions on the coast “must follow a logic of reconciliation between service to people, the economy, and the protection of natural heritage”.
