The IPMA has also placed around 70 municipalities in the districts of Faro, Beja, Portalegre, Santarém, Castelo Branco, Leiria, Coimbra, Guarda, Viseu, Braga, Viana do Castelo, Vila Real and Bragança at very high risk.

Dozens of other municipalities in the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Viseu, Santarém, Lisbon, Setúbal, Évora, Portalegre, Beja and Faro are at high risk.

In the coming days, these levels of fire risk will remain, according to the IPMA forecast.

The fire risk, determined by the IPMA, has five levels, ranging from ‘low’ to ‘maximum’, and the calculations are obtained from the air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and amount of precipitation in the last 24 hours.

Minimum temperatures today will range between 15ºC (Viseu) and 21ºC (Faro) and maximum temperatures between 24ºC (Viana do Castelo, Porto, and Aveiro) and 38ºC (Castelo Branco).
