In a press release, the Azorean airline informs that it will use an ATR 72-500 aircraft from Swiftair, under an ACMI (aircraft and crew rental) arrangement, with the aim of "mitigating the impact on its operations resulting from the temporary unavailability of a Bombardier Q400 aircraft" from SATA Air Açores, which is carrying out "unscheduled maintenance".

"In this context, and given the difficulties experienced globally in the supply chains for aeronautics, which prevent the downtime of this aircraft from being optimised, and considering the need to ensure the maintenance of the level of service to passengers, hiring this ACMI appears to be the best option", explains SATA.

The readjustment of operations with this aircraft is expected to last until 23 August and passengers who have reservations on flights covered are being notified by the airline.

SATA Air Açores regrets "any disruption that this situation may cause to its customers' travel plans".
