Located in the Museu de Água Reservoir in Amoeiras, at the Lisbon Immersivus Gallery, “Dalí Cybernetics” takes visitors on a digital journey through the worlds of Salvador Dalí, in what is also the world’s largest immersive exhibition dedicated to the Catalan artist and the only one developed with the support of the Salvador Dalí – Gala Foundation.
Carefully developed over two and half years by an international team led by the Catalan creative studio Layers of Reality, in close collaboration with the Dalí Foundation’s Centre for Studies, “Dalí Cybernetics” is an immersive and interactive experience that invites guests to take a new look at the work and visionary mind of Salvador Dalí, in a journey that combines art, science and technology to reveal not only the central elements of Dalí’s iconography, but also the previously unknown perspectives on his thought and artistic legacy.
Through large-format projections, interactive and collaborative installations, holograms and virtual reality, visitors of all ages can get to know the man who was considered the “first digital artist in history” and explore Dalí’s relationship with science and technology, working with digital art, cybernetics and the third and fourth dimensions, with a fully immersive 30-minute journey through his life and work.
Living Van Gogh
At the Immersivus Gallery in Porto, located at the Alfândega de Porto, “Living Van Gogh” delves into the heart of the artist’s most famous works and allows visitors to “step into” Vincent’s shoes and see the world through his eyes. Described as the largest multimedia show in the world dedicated to the Dutch painter, the 360º projection “Immersive Van Gogh” arrived in Porto in 2023, exclusively at the Immersive Gallery, with the signature of Italian visual artist Massimiliano Siccardi. Following this experience, the public can dive into Van Gogh’s inner universe through interactive and immersive installations developed by the OCUBO studio, such as the Symphony of the Sunflowers or a deep fake experience, among many others.
“We want even more people to have the opportunity to experience these immersive exhibitions this summer, now that they are about to end, because we believe that it will strongly impact more than just Van Gogh and Dalí aficionados”, Edoardo Canessa, Executive Producer of Immersivus Gallery, explained.
“These two exhibitions are perfect for visitors of all ages and have made it possible to publicise, in an innovative and very close way, the universes of two great masters of art, through a careful combination of their artistic legacy with new technologies, in two emblematic locations in the cities of Porto and Lisbon”, he added.
“Dalí Cybernetics” can be visited at the Lisbon Immersivus Gallery from Tuesday to Friday, between 3.30pm and 7pm, and from Saturday to Sunday between 3.30pm and 7.30pm. “Living Van Gogh”, at the Porto Immersivus Gallery, can be seen from Tuesday to Sunday, with sessions from 2pm and 4.30pm.
