St. Mary Magdalene was one of the disciples of Jesus who gave donations for the needs of Jesus and the apostles. She was a witness to the crucifixion and death of Jesus but perhaps her most important role was her being the first person to see the Risen Lord, the first person to be sent by Christ after his resurrection, and the first person to proclaim that Jesus is indeed alive. This earned her the title “the Apostle to the Apostles.”
