This year's Microsoft Supplier Prestige Awards saw KPMG being selected as Microsoft's Supplier of the Year in honour of the company's dedication to using artificial intelligence (AI) to accelerate innovation and improve employee experiences. The Supplier of the Year award recognises the concrete benefits of KPMG and Microsoft's partnership in improving Microsoft's internal operations as well as the noteworthy contributions made by KPMG firms in advancing the quality of consulting and tax delivery services, thereby establishing a standard for other international clients in the sector.

This award recognises the contributions made by KPMG companies to Microsoft's achievements as a reputable provider of professional services over the years. KPMG teams have worked with Microsoft on data and AI-led transformation, cloud, and sustainability solutions for almost 20 years as a preferred Microsoft supplier. As DJ Wilkins, Microsoft Lead Account Partner, KPMG in the US shared, “We are honoured to receive the Supplier of the Year Award from Microsoft. This award is a testament to KPMG professionals’ ability to provide Microsoft with service delivery excellence, innovation and the values that both of our organizations cherish”.

The Microsoft Supplier Prestige Awards, which are in their third year, credit suppliers whose basic principles coincide with Microsoft's and seek to promote collaboration throughout the supplier network. Amy Hood, Microsoft's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, emphasised the vital contributions that KPMG made to the alliance partnership, “KPMG has put AI and innovation at the forefront and has reshaped its professional services offerings to uplevel employee experience and accelerate innovation. Together, we are creating more value and achieving more together as a result”.

Moreover, the foundation of KPMG's dedication to moral and responsible AI practices, the Trusted AI framework, has also been incorporated into the company's partnership with Microsoft. The framework makes it possible for cutting-edge technologies to be applied in a way that upholds the greatest standards of ethics and integrity while also fostering efficiency and innovation. This helps to ensure that AI will play a constructive role in society in the future. "This award symbolizes KPMG and Microsoft’s ongoing and dedicated commitment to excellence, innovation, and our 360° relationship”, stated Cherie Gartner, Microsoft Global 360° Lead Partner, KPMG International, which also added that this recognition reflects both parties shared goal of working together to jointly influence the future.

Furthermore, in order to monitor supplier Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and enhance the effectiveness of supplier and procurement procedure reporting, KPMG experts and Microsoft have collaborated to create a sustainability co-pilot. Microsoft is testing and fine-tuning the co-pilot as customer zero for this new solution before integrating it into the Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability to give customers even more access to sustainability data analytics. Apart from winning Supplier of the Year, KPMG was also named a finalist in the Showstopper of the Year: Commitment to Community category, demonstrating its recognition for working purposefully within its communities.
