In response to the increasing number of walkers and cyclists that visit the interior of the Algarve each year, the Via Algarviana Certified Partner Network is now accessible online in the ‘Booking’ section of the Via Algarviana website and app.

Through the app, 40 local businesses and small enterprises offering services in the Via Algarviana territory - travel agents, food, transportation, lodging, entertainment for tourists, and specialised local trade - are brought together by the network in its initial phase.

One of the network's pillars is the shared values of all participating partners: protecting the area's natural and cultural assets. Visitors who make reservations through these partners are aware that they are supporting sustainable tourism and the local economies of the places they are visiting. In exchange, they get to know the area better, have more intimate interactions with locals and their culture and have authentic, one-of-a-kind experiences. Moreover, the network is a critical step in achieving one of Via Algarviana's primary goals, which is to support sustainable development in the Algarve's low-density interior region and the growth of its economy.

The ‘Booking’ page is a new section on the Via Algarviana website that was included with the network opening. Here, the user can select what they need, talk to the partners who are available, and then get in touch with them directly to get more details or make a service hire. You can even opt to explore an interactive map that makes it simple to discover which partners you will encounter on your journey.

According to Via Algarviana, the introduction of the Via Algarviana Certified Partner Network is just the beginning, as a number of additional businesses will join it in the upcoming months, completing and strengthening the offer across the region. In order to improve the calibre of the ecotourism-focused service, short-term training sessions are scheduled for participating partners. In addition, partners will spearhead volunteerism initiatives pertaining to the environment and society, thereby actively participating in the protection of this domain. In addition, participating businesses may be recognised by tourists thanks to a graphic image known as the "partnership seal" created by Via Algarviana.

Businesses that are interested in joining the network should visit the Via Algarviana website to find out more about the initiative and send an email to viaalgarviana@viaalgarviana.org to get in touch with the management team.
