According to Rogério Bacalhau, 36 people applied to the Municipal Police, but the majority were eliminated and only 10 remained who met all the requirements to enter training.

“The theoretical training will last until December and then, in January and February, they will go for practical training at the police school”, explained the mayor.

Rogério Bacalhau estimates that “by the end of the first quarter” of next year, the officers “will be ready to patrol and put their skills into practice”.

Given that not all vacancies have been filled, the Municipality will open another competition, with the aim of recruiting 20 more officers and completing the 30 vacancies.

“I hope that people apply and that we can fill all the positions so that we have a force capable of patrolling the entire Municipality, in collaboration with the PSP and GNR, of course”, concluded the Mayor of Faro.
