We start the year on a Wednesday, which means the first Wednesday of the year is a holiday and consequently most workers will only have two more days of work until the weekend. After that, we will have to wait a little longer, that is, until the middle of April to have a holiday, Good Friday.
Here is a detailed list of all public holidays in Portugal (Mainland and Archipelagos) in 2025:
National holidays (mandatory)
January 1st: New Year's Day
April 18th: Good Friday
April 20th: Easter Sunday
April 25th: Freedom Day or the Carnation Revolution
May 1st: Labour Day
June 10th: Portugal, Camões and Portuguese Communities Day.
June 19th: Corpus Christi day
August 15th: the day of the Assumption of Our Lady
October 5th: Republic Day
November 1st: All Saints' Day
December 1st: Independence Restoration Day
December 8th: The day of the Immaculate Conception
December 25th: Christmas Day.
Optional holiday
March 4th: like every year, Carnival Tuesday is not considered an official holiday and is therefore optional.
I don't understand... Why would you use that picture to represent Portuguese holiday schedule? We aren't in a Brazilian carnival.
