According to a report by ECO, the calculations are based on new data published by the National Statistics Institute (INE), together with employment statistics for the period between July and September.
In real terms, after discounting the impact of inflation, recorded in September, at 2.1%, growth was lower, but still significant, at 7.8% or 82 euros.
The average net monthly income of the employed population, after IRS withholding tax and social contributions, has been growing consecutively since the beginning of the year, in year-on-year terms. In the first quarter, the average net salary grew 6.3% and, in the second, there was a positive evolution of 8.9%.
In the chain variation, that is, from the second to the third quarter, the increase in the average net salary was more modest, 1.23% or 14 euros compared to the salary of 1,137 euros that INE calculated for the second quarter.
