According to a statement from IPMA, the yellow warning due to the "persistence of high maximum temperature values" is in effect until 6pm today.
The yellow warning, the least serious on a scale of three, is issued whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the meteorological situation.
The IPMA predicts generally clear skies for today, with periods of more cloudiness on the coast of the North and Center regions until mid-morning and at the end of the day.
Forecasts also point to a drop in maximum temperature in the North and Center regions and a rise in the Algarve.
The highest maximum temperature predicted for today will be reached in Évora and Castelo Branco, at 39 degrees Celsius, and the lowest in Aveiro at 24 degrees Celsius.
And it'll continue to hit higher as deforestation continues apace due to the demands of agriculture due to population explosion. Forests were the earth's gigantic air conditioners. Get rid of them and you're left with parched everything. In spite of all the vegan nonsense, agriculture on a massive scale has been the greatest ecological disaster the earth has faced. There's no "sustainability" with agriculture. Agriculture is destruction.
