According to the union leader, there was also “a large picket” of workers who gathered at the door of the Olivais facilities, in protest.

Urban hygiene workers in the municipality of Lisbon have been on strike for overtime since Wednesday and are set to continue until January 2nd, in addition to a 24-hour strike for two days today and on Friday.

For the same two days, strikes were scheduled in the neighboring municipality of Oeiras and in the company Resinorte, which covers dozens of city halls in the North region.

Regarding the protest in the municipality of Oeiras, in the district of Lisbon, from 0am to 6am today and Friday, Carlos Fernandes said that participation was around “two thirds, that is, 66%” on the night shift .
