The information was released in a post on the railway operator's Facebook page.

Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) also told Lusa that the service was suspended due to "the intrusion of two individuals on the railway deck" and confirmed, in the meantime, the resumption of circulation.

A source from the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP told Lusa that an alert was given by IP, at 9:50 am, about the presence of two people on the railway line.

However, according to the same source, “it was not possible to intercept or identify them, as they climbed down a pillar” and fled.

Fertagus operates the suburban passenger rail service between Roma-Areeiro station in Lisbon and Setúbal station, a 54-kilometer distance, crossing the 25 de Abril Bridge.

Infraestruturas de Portugal manages the national road and rail networks, including the command and control of rail traffic.
