Portugal qualified for the semi-finals of the Nations League in football after beating Denmark 5-2 in extra time in Lisbon, after a 3-2 deficit in regulation time, recovering from a 1-0 deficit in the first leg, shares ECO.

Substitutes Francisco Trincão, with his first two goals for the Portuguese team, in the 86th and 91st minutes, and Gonçalo Ramos, in the 115th minute, sealed Portugal's qualification for the final four, where they will face hosts Germany in June.

Joachim Andersen, in an own goal, in the 38th minute, and Cristiano Ronaldo, in the 72nd minute, had given Portugal the advantage, after the Portuguese captain had missed a penalty, saved by Kasper Schmeichel, in the sixth minute, with Denmark having equalised the tie twice, first through Rasmus Kristensen, in the 56th minute, and then through Christian Eriksen, in the 76th minute.

With this outcome, Portugal will play its ninth appearance in the final phase of a World Cup, the seventh in a row, against Hungary, Ireland and Armenia, in Group F of the European qualification.
