Turismo do Algarve was once again distinguished as a Trusted Brand by subscribers to the Reader's Digest Selecções magazine, in the Tourism Region category, according to Postal.
In the open question “My Most Trusted Brand in the Tourism Region category is…”, the Algarve received 39.5% of responses, standing out among national destinations and registering an increase of 13.9 percentage points compared to last year. The voting panel was made up of 12 thousand households representing the Portuguese population.
“It is with great pride that, in the year in which we celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Algarve Tourism Region, we have once again received the Trusted Brand distinction awarded by the readers of Reader's Digest Selections. This recognition reinforces our commitment to quality, authenticity and excellence”, highlights André Gomes, president of Turismo do Algarve.
“I would like to thank the entire Algarve Tourism team and the professionals in the sector who make this region a unique destination. We will continue to work every day to provide memorable experiences to those who visit us. The Algarve is, and will continue to be, worthy of everyone’s trust,” he concluded.
Algarve Tourism beat the other finalist destinations, namely Alentejo and Ribatejo Tourism, which received 10.6% of responses, and Porto and North Tourism, which received 8.7%. The main attributes assessed were quality, value for money and sustainability, with 67% of Selecções readers stating that they are customers of the main national tourist destination.
The domestic market continues to be the main source of tourists to the region, registering 1.4 million guests and 4.7 million overnight stays in Algarve tourist accommodation throughout 2024.
