A source from the Beiras and Serra da Estrela sub-regional command told Lusa news agency at 6:45 a.m. that "there was no worrying progression" in the two fires, which are still active, and that there was "a significant improvement in the fight, which is proceeding favourably."

During the early morning hours, there were some rekindlings in areas of Fundão, but they were quickly brought under control, the source added, regarding the fire that started in Arganil.

On Thursday, the worsening of the fire front that entered the municipality of Covilhã forced the lockdown in Unhais da Serra, Cortes de Baixo, and Cortes do Meio, but, according to the same source, there were no problems.

At 7:00 a.m., the fire that started in Arganil on the 13th was being fought by 1,605 firefighters, supported by 548 vehicles, and the Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo fire, which started on Wednesday, was mobilizing 255 firefighters and 81 vehicles, according to the website of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC).
