In addition to previous closures, there are two sections of the IC9 closed in Alcobaça and Vale dos Ovos, and one section of the IC1 closed in Grândola. Other traffic restrictions affect 77 national roads and 66 municipal roads nationwide, according to authorities.
Rail and river transport were also affected, according to SAPO Noticias.
The severe weather has also disrupted train and river services in several regions. The Transtejo ferry line between Cacilhas and Cais do Sodré is suspended, along with services connecting Trafaria, Porto Brandão, and Belém.
On the railway network, trains are suspended on multiple lines, including:
- Linha da Beira Baixa: between Entroncamento and Castelo Branco
- Linha do Oeste
- Linha do Douro: between Régua and Pocinho
- Urban trains in Coimbra
On the Linha do Norte, long-distance trains are halted due to flooding in Alfarelos, while Urban Lisbon trains are suspended between Alverca and Castanheira do Ribatejo. On the Linha de Cascais, trains are running on a single track only between Algés and Oeiras. On the Linha do Sul, service is suspended between Ermidas do Sado and Grândola, with bus replacement services provided for long-distance routes.

That’s really tough to hear disruptions like this can affect so many people at once. I hope everyone stays safe and that transport services are able to recover quickly, especially for those who rely on roads and rail for daily travel. Thoughts with the communities dealing with the worst of the storms.
