Rough sea conditions – Orange warning (all coastal districts)
The Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has issued an orange warning for rough seas along the entire coastline. Waves from the west are expected to reach heights of 5 to 7 metres, with some waves potentially as high as 12 to 13 metres, creating dangerous conditions at sea and along the coast.
Strong winds – Yellow warning (Beja, Faro, and Setúbal)
A yellow warning for strong winds is in effect in Beja, Faro, and Setúbal between 9:00 am and 6:00 p.m. Gusts of up to 70 km/h are expected, especially in coastal areas, which may cause local disruptions.
Snow – Orange warning (northern and central highlands)
An orange snow warning is in place for Castelo Branco and Guarda until 11:59 pm on Saturday, 7 February. Braga, Vila Real, and Viana do Castelo will also be under an orange warning from midday today until 6:00 am on Saturday. Snow is expected above 800 metres, with accumulations of up to 20 cm above 1,200 metres. These conditions may lead to road closures, transport disruptions, and possible damage to trees and infrastructure.
Snow – Yellow warning (Bragança, Porto, and Viseu)
A yellow snow warning is also in effect for Bragança, Porto, and Viseu from early afternoon today until 6:00 am on Saturday, as snowfall may cause temporary travel difficulties and slippery road conditions.
