As part of a market inspection in Portugal and after analysing the information provided, the national medicines authority concluded that "the product 'Calmidine' (...) is improperly classified on the market, from a regulatory point of view, as a cosmetic product."
In an information circular published on its website, Infarmed states that the product, from the company MedNet GmbH (based in Germany), "should not be classified as a cosmetic because it does not meet the applicable requirements established" in the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on cosmetic products.
The National Authority of Medicines and Health Products (Infarmed) urges entities that may have this product not to make it available or use it.
They also advise consumers who have this product not to use it.
