The trade unionists have complained about a lack of action on behalf of the ACT, and have submitted a complaint to the Labour inspectorate at the local Faro branch.
According to the union, employers in the Algarve’s hotel industry “do not respect working hours, do not comply with collective contract rules, and do not pay for overtime or working on holidays.
This is true story, I also face this problem. I worked in a hotel more than 18 months without getting extra hours and holiday facilitate even I worked extra days on Christmas and new year on 2018/19 they didn't paid my day hour salary. They provide contract differently and paid less. If the government fine them it will be good for the next worker so I try to write my reality.
