The Argentina rugby team in training this week in the Algarve

The Pumas arrived in the sunny Algarve following a game last Saturday in England against Leicester Tigers Rugby club whom they beat 55-34 in a testimonial game for Marcos Ayerza.

Argentina, who are currently ranked eighth in the world, return to England this Sunday to prepare for their World Cup opener against World Champions New Zealand on 20 September.

The 2007 World Cup semi-finalists enjoyed an impressive Rugby Championship this year, where they managed to record their first win over the Springboks, beating them 37-25 in South Africa.

The Southern Americans also have a relatively easy qualifying group, and barring any upsets, should qualify as runners-up from Pool C before a likely quarter-final clash against either France or Ireland.

There will be an opportunity for rugby fans to view a training session this coming Saturday between 09:00am and 10:30am at Browns Vilamoura.
