In mainland Portugal and in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, clocks should be put forward one hour when it is 1am to 2am.

In the Autonomous Region of the Azores, the change will be made at 00:00, moving to 1am.

The legal time will then change again on October 25, for the winter regime.

The current time-change regime is regulated by a directive (Community law) of 2000, which provides that every year the clocks are advanced and delayed each one hour on the last Sunday in March and the last Sunday in October, marking the start and end of summer time.
