A source of the court told Lusa that the judge scheduled the interrogation of Socrates, who asked to testify on 28 October, leaving, however, open the remaining days of the week (29, 30 and 31), if it is necessary to continue the hearing.
The “Operation Marquês” case, which first came to light in November 2014, has resulted in an indictment with more than 4,000 pages, 134 volumes, more than 500 attachments and records of more than 180 searches and telephone conversations.
In total, it exceeds 53,000 pages of paper, spread over two rooms of the Central Criminal Investigation Court.
José Sócrates, who was held in pre-trial detention and under house arrest, is accused of 31 economic and financial crimes.
