The authority also inspected more than 450 service providers at festivals in Oeiras, Porto, Crato, Zambujeira do Mar, Costa da Caparica, Paredes de Coura and Vilar de Mouros.
Sixty-two fines were issued and legal proceedings were launched in eight cases in ASAE’s Operation Summer Sound, which aims to uphold food standards and public health safety at the country’s biggest summer festivals.
The main offences, ASAE said in a statement, detected within festival venues, related to the selling or facilitating of alcoholic drinks to underage minors in public places, failing to comply with health and safety principals for the supplying of food, incompliance with rules governing access to shows, and lack of compulsory signage.
Criminal offences included ticket speculation, the sale, circulation or concealment of counterfeit goods and items, imitation and illegal use of trademarks, and use of stolen or forged identification documentation.
A variety of products including alcohol, concert tickets, clothing and accessories were also seized during the summer-long operation.

Maybe one of the most effective ways to combat the fake markets is to mass serialise the original goods and empower the customers to check the originality and other product’s characteristics. Serialization is maybe the most powerful and cost effective anti-counterfeit solution, for example the solution offered by www.my-validactor.com is immediately available, easy to implement and at a cost near to zero.
Fighting counterfeiters could be an easy task if there is real willingness to combat them.
