According to newspaper Correio da Manhã, locals claim dozens of homes and establishments between Benfarras and Maritenda, which is just over a kilometre from Vilamoura, have no mains water or basic sanitation. They have put boards up denouncing this along the EN125 to draw attention to the situation.
