Latest reports suggest Lufthansa has been negotiating with David Neeleman in talks, which are also involving American company United Airlines.
The news comes after successive reports of disagreements between David Neeleman and the Portuguese government with regard to the management of the airline. TAP last year also reported losses of 105 million euros, which has heightened dissatisfaction among parties who currently own the airline.
TAP/SATA is a dreadfully run airline any change would be welcome.

Anyone complaining about TAP should sample the offerings of United Airlines, both in-flight and their "lounges". The Bombarral bus station is nicer. I fly TAP several times per year, and think they are pretty good.
