Number of new companies up in 2018 as insolvencies fall

The number of new companies formed in Portugal last year was up 12.2 percent on the previous year, while the number of insolvencies fell 6.3 percent, according to figures released on Thursday by Iberinform, a company specialising in credit insurance.

The largest number of startups was in Lisbon district, followed by Porto.

Regarding insolvencies in 2018, Lisbon and Porto were the districts with the highest figures.
