In its Tweet, Ryanair says “Congratulations Cristiano on your new airport from your favourite airline”.
This comes after the airport in Funchal, Madeira was renamed Cristiano Ronaldo airport.
While Ryanair flies to four Portuguese airports, Funchal is not one of them, though this could be an indication that the Irish airline may be looking to fly to the island region.
