Yesterday in fact saw rainfall across parts of the country and snow was forecast for the highest parts of the Serra da Estrela mountain range.
While still being some way away from usual summer averages, the temperatures are expected to start very gradually rising from tomorrow.
The Portuguese Met Office has described the drop in temperatures in recent days as “atypical”.
It's rather nice actually if you really think about it. Rain and cool air. It's easy to make the best of it and see the silver lining. Much harder would be to see a silver lining in earthquake or forest fires.

Great that you reports this in times when usually only high temperature events make it to the news. There were many low temperture events in the world this year, which is in line with the next grand solar minimum.
