With the name #Fundão Mask, this network has the support of the Fundão Chamber and integrates CACFF - Matriz Project, residents of the Fundão Migration Centre and people who know how to sew.

These masks, however, are not a substitute for surgical ones, said the Fundão Chamber.

The objective is to produce reusable protective masks made of fabric to meet local needs and which will be distributed according to the needs of the executive, informs the municipality in a press release sent to the Lusa agency.

"These masks are made of washable fabric at least 60 degrees or simply with soap and water for each use", he said.

According to the municipality, the project is already underway and follows the rules of social distance recommended by health authorities.

The fabrics are cut at the Fundão Seminar, while sewing is carried out at the home of people who know how to sew and who have joined the project.

The transport from one place to another is done by technicians from the chamber and the Matrix Project, who also follow all prevention procedures.

The Matrix project is available to assign the sewing workshop machines, in case any volunteer needs it.
