"We respect the right to protest and we understand the position of the protesters, who believe that more actions are needed in the decarbonisation movement", said a source in the administration of Galp.
The same official source added that the protest by Climáximo, which brought together around 100 protesters along the various accesses of the unit, in a non-violent action of civil disobedience and a blockade, “did not affect the activity of the Sines refinery”.
"Galp is paving the way for the decarbonisation of its activity and to position the company and the country at the forefront of the energy transition", he added.
According to the company, the Sines refinery “will be part of this transformation, transitioning over time to a Green Energy Park, with new sustainable solutions, such as green hydrogen and biofuels”.
