The German military medical team that was dispatched to help Portugal in combating the covid-19 pandemic will begin to treat the first patients today. 26 health professionals, including six doctors, brought 40 mobile and 10 stationary ventilators, 150 infusion pumps and as many hospital beds. The German military team arrived in Portugal on Wednesday, and are staying at Hospital da Luz, in Lisbon. Mission spokesman, Lt. Col. Kieron Kleinert, explained that the team will be able to “treat eight [Covid] patients at the same time, 24 hours a day, seven days a week”.
