Currently, of a total of more than five thousand available parking spaces (5,079) held by Porto City Hall (there are more parks from other entities spread across the city), 1,622 are concessioned, distributed across the Castelo do Queijo parks (276 spaces), Praceta Adelino Amaro da Costa (394), Praça Infante D. Henrique (318), Aviz (250) and Praça D. João I (384).

The next to be completed will be the Castelo do Queijo parking lot, a "concession under the Porto 2001 program, scheduled to end on May 31, 2026."

There will also be two concessions to end in 2028: that of the Praceta Adelino Amaro da Costa park, "started on October 22, 2008, lasting 20 years, under the management of Braga Parques", and that of Ribeira (Praça Infante D. Henrique), "started on December 15, 2021, lasting seven years, under the management of Grupo Saba".

There will only be one long-term concession left, in the case of the Praça D. João I and Aviz parks, on Rua Pedro Homem de Mello, near Avenida da Boavista, lasting until at least 2040.

According to Porto City Council, the joint concession was "signed on November 13, 2020, lasting 20 years, under the management of ESLI – Parques de Estajamento, S.A", but that of the D. João I park, "previously managed by Parquegil, S.A., is pending a decision from the arbitration court due to a request for an extension related to the effects of the pandemic."

If during the terms of the independent Rui Moreira the parks of Ribeira, Aviz, and D. João I were again granted concessions, the municipality also ended up regaining direct management of the city's largest park complex, which encompasses 893 spaces under the squares of Lisbon, Gomes Teixeira, Carlos Alberto and the Palace of Justice.

The complex in the historic centre of Porto is managed by STCP Serviços after having been concessioned to private parties, the same happening with the park in Praça dos Poveiros, with 278 spaces, which is managed by the municipal company Ágora.

In total, there are 11 parking lots under municipal management, of which two are directly run by the City Hall (Parque de São Roque, 39 spaces for heavy passenger vehicles, and Parque da Alfândega, with 170 spaces, of which six are for heavy passenger vehicles). and two for Ágora (Silo Auto, 800 seats, and Poveiros, 278).

STCP Serviços, integrated into the Sociedade de Transportes Coletivos do Porto (STCP), which is majority controlled by Porto City Council, is responsible for managing the parks at the Intermodal Terminal of Campanhã (230 places), Trindade (345), Duque de Loulé ( 140 ), Caminhos do Romântico (105), Viela do Anjo (34 avenças), Palácio de Cristal (464) and the complex of parks in the squares of Lisbon, Carlos Alberto, Gomes Teixeira and Palácio da Justiça (893).

Recently, the purchase of a parking lot in the area of Miguel Bombarda, Cedofeita and Carlos Alberto was also approved, for three million euros, with a capacity for 249 spaces, "to remove cars from public space".

"The Municipality of Porto follows the strategy recommended in the Municipal Master Plan, in particular, the creation of Zones XXI, where the aim is to progressively eliminate parking in public spaces and along streets, replaced by parking for residents in existing collection garages or to create", says the municipality.
